How to Clean Gold and Platinum Jewelry:

  1. Place your gold or platinum jewelry into the Bang Diep jewelry cleaner solution. 

  2. After two minutes, use a pair of tweezers to remove your jewelry from the solution.

  3. Gently clean behind the settings and in between crevices with a soft bristle brush to remove any debris. 

  4. Rinse, blot dry, and shine your gold or platinum jewelry with a Bang Diep polishing cloth. 

We welcome you to bring your Bang Diep jewelry in-store for professional cleaning. 

Gemstone and Pearl Jewelry Day-to-Day Care:

We recommend avoiding exposing diamond, gemstone, and pearl jewelry to variable temperatures, cosmetics, and ultrasonic cleaning. 

How to Clean Gemstone and Pearl Jewelry:

  1. Place your gemstone jewelry into the jewelry cleaner solution.

  2. After two minutes, use a pair of tweezers to remove your jewelry from the solution.

  3. Gently clean behind the settings and in between crevices with a soft bristle brush to remove any debris.

  4.  Rinse the jewelry and dry it with a polishing cloth. 

NOTE: Delicate gemstones can be cleaned with a soft brush and a mild soap and water solution.

 

REPAIR & RESIZE

  • Jewelry, by nature, is delicate. We are happy to repair an item purchased on bangdiep.com, at no charge to you, within the first 120 days of receipt of purchase. Repairs needed after 120 days, or deemed to be caused by misuse, will incur repair and shipping fees at the customer's expense. Pricing for repairs varies depending on style and typically starts at $30, plus shipping.

  • Many of our rings can be resized. Pricing for ring resizing varies depending on style and typically starts at $60. The requested ring resizing and shipping will be at the customer's expense.

  • We cannot accept responsibility for items repaired by a third party. All warranty of the piece will be considered void if a third party has worked on a Bang Diep design.

• What is the starting price for custom jewelry, and are there any specific timeframes or deadlines customers should be aware of?

Custom projects start around $5,000. We recommend starting the process at least 8-10 weeks before the date you need the final piece to ensure we can meet your expectations with our craftsmanship.

• Do you offer specific wedding packages or discounts for multiple items (e.g., engagement ring + wedding bands)?

Yes, we encourage designing the engagement ring and wedding band together to ensure a cohesive design. Creating both pieces at the same time ensures a perfect match, especially if you prefer identical styles.

• What kind of assessment is involved when redesigning heirloom pieces?

When redesigning heirloom pieces, we assess the condition of gemstones and metals to identify any potential issues, such as chipped stones. We inform clients ahead of time of any potential risks during the redesign process. Some stones may need repolishing or recutting depending on their condition.

• How does the curation process work if someone is looking for a rare gemstone?

Based on your preferences, such as gemstone type, color, size, and budget, we will source options from our trusted vendors. We provide live pictures and videos of the stones for you to review. If you're interested, we can arrange to have the stone shipped for viewing. A fee will apply for this, which will go toward your purchase.

• What types of jewelry repairs do you typically perform?

We offer both simple and complex repairs.

o Simple Repairs include ring resizing, chain or clasp repair, prong re-tipping, professional cleaning, and rhodium plating.

o Complex Repairs include intricate setting repair, stone replacement, repolishing or recutting gemstones and diamonds, and heirloom restoration.

• Does the cleaning service cover all types of metals and stones, and are there any exceptions?

We clean most precious metals, including white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, platinum, and silver. For delicate gemstones that are too soft for ultrasonic cleaning, we use non-abrasive methods to clean them safely.

• What kind of documentation do clients receive after authentication, and how is this service performed?

During the authentication process, clients receive a verbal, unbiased opinion on their jewelry from a certified gemologist. If you require formal documentation, we recommend a full appraisal.

• Are appraisals conducted in-store or remotely, and how long does it take to complete an appraisal?

Appraisals are conducted in our secure office. A certified gemologist will assess the piece, and professional photographs will be taken for the report. Turnaround time for appraisals is typically 1-3 business days, depending on complexity.

• How detailed can engravings be, and what types of jewelry can be engraved?

Using our state-of-the-art laser engraving machine, we can engrave simple details like dates and initials, as well as more intricate designs such as custom logos, pictures, and even metal cut-outs.

• Is the free sizing service available to everyone, or is it limited to specific customers?

Free sizing is available to all customers who can visit our showroom. We do require an appointment for this service, so please schedule an appointment here or give us a call at 858-866-4498 to book your visit.
